The Quality Affirmed -- Food Safety Standard has been specifically developed for food businesses involved in the supply, preparation and delivery of food.

The Quality Affirmed -- Food Safety Standard (FSS) is the framework for a food safety system which incorporates the principles of food safety (Codex Alimentarius HACCP) and quality management. This food safety system meets the needs of food businesses requiring recognition for the provision of safe food. The recognition of industry-based Food Safety Systems is expected to be supported by proposed regulatory systems and provides for independent review and audit by appropriately qualified and registered Auditors using existing professionally recognised framework.

The standard provides for the certification of Food Safety Systems developed by the food businesses by appropriately accredited third parties to provide assurance of the continuing suitability of the system.
