Integrated Management Systems (IMS) are a collection of operating procedures that define the processes an organisation employs to ensure its administrative and project work is carried out effectively, safely, efficiently and within legislative and regulatory requirements in accordance with the CCF Civil Construction Management Code.
The Civil Contractors Federation, recognising that many Contractors would need assistance, and an economical way to develop these systems, has developed two Integrated Management Systems templates, commonly called the CCF-IMS and CCF-SCIMS.
- The CCF-IMS is designed for organisations with more than 5 employees and undertaking project works up to approximately $2 million value.
- CCF-SCIMS is designed specifically for the smaller organisation with less than 5 employees and is focused on providing a smaller system applicable to short duration frequently repetitive works.
The templates, available on CD Rom, provide a generic System Manual, a series of Procedures, relating Work Instructions, Project Management Plans and documents that the Contractor adapts to suit the specific needs of his/her business.
The templates effectively provide the framework around which the Contractor develops their system, thus taking much of the system research and development cost away.
Another significant benefit of CCF Integrated Management Systems is the simplicity of operation and straightforward approach to systems management as opposed to a high documentation level approach.
